Are you watching football this afternoon? In the following video, Lawson Bates and Trace Bates announce their picks for today's games (New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers). Erin (Bates) Paine, clearly not a sports fan, also shares her two cents.

I thought the Bates family did not watch TV. So how do they know about lots of sports teams?

DeleteThey probably watch sports as well as the news, but not all the other "junk" that also is on TV. BTW, since when did the Bates ever say they didn't watch TV?
DeleteThey still play football games on the radio. They probably also have been to games.
DeleteThat's what I was going to ask. Maybe they look it up online or they're allowed to watch sports. I saw that once they watched Dolphin Tale.

ReplyDeleteWell there's one thing for sure, the Bates boys know their football. They were right about the super bowl being between the Panthers and the Broncos. I am personally hoping that the Broncos will win, because... Peyton Manning.

Everyone needs not watch it. It's just a bunch if ideas playing football. That's why people act up they watch to much football.
ReplyDeleteMy family doesn't watch it either. It's better to be reading then watching football.
My brothers played football all their lives and they didn't " act up". I used to be on the sidelines watching them and play with them in the frontyard. Its a good thing in many ways. It gets kids involved socially and watching football is good family time. Everyone sitting together being involved with eachother. You just have to be aware of you own child. My brothers coach was very Godly. He was always hammering home discipline and respect. What you see on t.v. isn't always what it actually is it takes a lot of good work ethic and commitment to be where those guys are. Sure they'll say things or be wild on the field but that's to get viewers and make it interesting. And remember they get penalties and fines for pretty much anything these days.
