"If you're at this house and it's a time where people should be working, nobody sits around..." (Nathan Bates)
When Nathan walks by the kitchen as Tori, Carlin, and Josie are preparing dinner, they recruit him to help cut chicken breasts. But is he able to complete the task as quickly as the girls can? Find out in the video below!

Everybody has to start somewhere. Learning to cook takes practice, so the girls should be more patient with Nathan, let him learn, and in time he will become faster. Don't scare him off...with that kind of teasing, he may never want to return to the kitchen. Many of the best chefs in the world are men.
ReplyDeleteLighten up!! Siblings are supposed to tease each other. It's refreshing to them being so normal!
DeleteI actually love the teasing! What siblings don't tease each other?!
DeleteAgreed!
DeleteI love The Bates Family. I know they were originally brought on TLC due to being such good friends with The Duggar Family...and both have 19 children, but the Bates come across as much more real. Gil and KellyJo hug and kiss their children. And the siblings actually bicker some just like every other normal functioning family. No one appears to be the "stand out" pillar of virtue. The are very refreshing to watch.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about them.
DeleteAm I the only one who thinks Tori and Carlin look like twins? I get them mixed up all the time!
ReplyDeleteI love this family, but someone has to tell them that "AIN'T" is not a word. I think Kelly has her degree in English, but her kids say "ain't" all the time. It is a bad habit.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's inexcusable if Kelly has an English degree and allows her kids to speak like that. She needs to get her money back from that college.
DeleteLol! It's called slang! Not everybody has to speak oh-so-proper English.
DeleteIt's a southern colloquialism and it's part of the culture they live in. Kelly says "idear" instead of idea which is also common in the south. Every culture has different quirks when it comes to language and accents. I'm from the south and I don't speak like the Bates but I'm not bothered by it either. Some would argue that it's part of the south's charm...much like a cockney accent in certain parts of Britain.
DeleteI agree. They also say "me and Chad, instead of "Chad and I". And I've seen Erin and using better grammar on interviews for baby news. Maybe part of the exclusive deal is to correct her grammar for her LOL
DeleteIt is an absolutely harmless habit! Lots of places around the country - including where I come from - use "ain't" as part of the regional dialect! It doesn't mean we're uneducated or "beneath" those who don't say it in any way! Same goes for "me and Chad." Personally, I like the way the Bates talk.
DeleteJust so ya'll know ain't is in the dictionary.
DeleteWe finally see a Bates guy in the kitchen...yay!
ReplyDeleteDid Carlin call Nathan Kenny? Isn't his first name actually Kenneth?
ReplyDeleteYes Kenneth Nathaniel
DeleteYes :)
DeleteDid you notice when Nathan came inside to help cut the chicken he didn't even wash is hands. That's gross.
ReplyDeleteIt's tv, it doesn't show everything.
DeleteLOL!! He's helping in the kitchen--hygiene can come later:)
DeleteThey don't wear hygiene. They wear lowgiene. I cracked up when Jackson said that on an episode
DeleteI think it's sweet that the Bates boys help out in the kitchen if someone asks them to.
