Wishing Whitney (Perkins) Bates a happy 23rd birthday! Did you know that Whitney has a associate degree in business with an emphasis on medical coding/billing and medical insurance?
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET WHITNEY!!!! you are one of my favorite Bates- so down to earth, loving, fun and an awesome wife and mom!! hope your kids and zach make your day special, i know they will!!!
That's fantastic but what good is having the degree if it's not used? It's my understanding these women don't ever hold jobs in the "world". Although I have no idea why. The Proverbs 31 wife worked outside the home ( and not just babysitting ). She bought and sold land with her own earnings. It would be refreshing for one of these women to be able to talk about more than just pregnancy and birth. And I don't know if any husbands who don't appreciate their wives helping to bring in finances.
My husband asked me not to work. He likes for me to be home and keep up with everything here. Not all men are the same. What does it hurt to get a degree even if you don't use it? It never hurts to learn new things. You don't know the future. If something ever happened to Zach, she might have to go to work outside of the home. If she wants to stay home and take care of her children and her husband wants her to as well, why does that matter to you? The Proverbs 31 wife probably didn't have toddlers at home. It is a lot of work to keep up with the kids and a home especially when the kids are little.
At least she has a degree and it may come in handy some day when she decides she wants to work outside the home. For now, Whitney likely prefers to stay home with her kids while they are little. She's young, only 23, and has her whole life ahead of her.
Erin gives piano lessons, which I am sure significantly contributes to her family's income. I think that Erin has a degree in music. Alyssa also works in her family's cleaning business. Maybe Whitney will go back to work when her children are no longer so young. Also, we don't know everything about their lives. It is possible to do medical billing and coding from home.So it's not true that the Bates women only stay home and raise children.
Happy Birthday Whitney. Wishing a you a good one. Have fun. And God bless you. Your such a good encouragement to me and your a godly women who loves her family and her hubby. God bless u. Love you.
If she has this good degree, why was she working at Sonic? The thing that bothers most people here, is that Whitney is not ALLOWED to work and use her education. She also had to conform to the Bates code of dress from what I understand. We would like to hear from Whitney, herself, as to what she was like before she married, and just what is was/is that she was required to change in her lifestyle, work and dress to marry Zach..if anything.
First: she worked at sonic years ago when her and Zach first met.. Probably working while going to college!? Not unheard of. second: a lot of the Bates daughters work (Erin does piano lessons, Alyssa works for the cleaning business ect.) lots of women with degrees choose to stay home if finances allow while their children are young (myself included) then go back to work once the kids start pre K. A lot of the Bates women have said they don't intend on having excessive amounts of children (Erin has said she's done at just 2!) so I don't think it's fair to say she's basically wasting her degree to become a baby making machine. She's still young, let them have their kids and enjoy them then she can go back to work whenever she's ready. A business degree is extremely versatile and always in demand.
