Most of you have heard about Chad Paine's passion for restoring old furniture and making new furniture. (He and Erin hope to turn that hobby into a business very soon.) Did you know that the father of two also enjoys redecorating?
The Paines' tiny, cottage-style house has undergone quite a few renovations since the couple tied the knot in November 2013.
This photo of their living room was taken earlier this summer...
But just last year, the same room had two other "looks." This is the "pre-Carson" living room...
And this is the "post-Carson" living room...
Do you enjoy redecorating?

How can they afford to buy new couches all the time? We still have the couches my parents bought when they got married nearly 24 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThree couch in the newest remodel has a couch cover on it.
DeleteThe couch in the first photo is obviously the same as in the third photo but with a slip cover.
DeleteI believe that the current, tan-colored couch is simply a cover over the dark brown one in the bottom photo. Perhaps they got the blue one in the middle photo as a hand-me-down when first married (as many couples seem to do; inherit old furniture from family or friends), and then they saved up and purchased a new one (the dark brown one), and then recovered it with a slip-over cover (the lighter brown/tan) when they redecorated the last time. Just my guess. :)
DeleteCloser examination that shows they just added a couch cover over their old couch. Cheers
DeleteThey put a slipcover over their old couch
DeleteThe blue one looks used. The other is slip covered in a lighter material in the first picture.
DeleteOh, Brother. Please don't bother to comment if you must be off topic and negative! I love to redecorate! I rotate pieces from room to room often giving them completely new functions. Paint is the fastest and easiest way to transform a room or piece of furniture. Small little details like Erin's blue bottle collections can be picked up for a song at Dollar stores or thrift stores. I love that they redecorate often. It seems they refine their taste more and more each time.
DeleteLooks like they put a slip cover on the brown couch
DeleteIf you look at the bottom picture and the top picture. They look like the same couch, just with a cream cover on it.
DeleteThe first one they may not have purchased, it may have been a hand me down or gotten it off. Raiglist or something. You don't know. And their current couch definitely looks like the same brown one with a slip cover on it.
DeleteLooks like the post Carson couch is the same couch in the summer picture but had a slip cover on it.
DeleteThey used a slip on the brown couch (the last picture) to make it into the tan couch (the first picture).
DeleteLooks like they utilized slip covers on the first picture.
DeleteIt looks like the "post-Carson" just got a slip cover. Look closely.
DeleteThe couches are two different sizes though. If they got a new couch, that's great! It looks nice!
DeleteOh, that makes sense. Thanks
DeleteThey probably save their money or bought another couch second hand. Whenever my husband and I want something new we put away for it.
DeleteThey are starting a furniture business. It is probably not too hard for them to get furniture!
DeleteIf you look closely, you will see that the most recent couch (the tan one) is actually the same couch, but just has been fitted with a slipcover. A very creative and frugal way to change the look and feel of a room. Go Chad and Erin!
ReplyDeleteYou must know how they can afford it since they have a TV show! They make a whole LOT of money being on TV!! And you also would buy new furnishings and new cars if you had the money from TV!
ReplyDeleteLove the new look!
ReplyDeleteI like the before way better! When they painted the cupboards I cringed! The beautiful wood!!! Plus, those kids will grow and all that white will not stay white!!!! Ah well, not my house.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a slipcover, to me.
ReplyDeleteThe after baby and today is the same couch with a cover.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd couch in the lower pics is the one in the recent puc, just with a cover on it. You can tell by the shape.
ReplyDeleteI think they just slip covered the previous couch.
ReplyDeleteThe beige couch looks like it slipped covered. I love her style!
ReplyDeleteI think they just slip covered the previous couch.
ReplyDeleteThe brown and beige are the same couch. The beige is a slip cover. And they probably got the blue one second hand.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a slipcover. And why does it matter? He works. She does her music and does tutoring and lessons.
ReplyDeleteThe brown and beige are the same couch. The beige is a slip cover. And they probably got the blue one second hand.
ReplyDeleteThey have covered the 2nd couch with a cover. Notice the shape of the couch. Also, Chad works and they get paid good money for the show.
ReplyDeleteEasy peasy. So many people sell or give away their "old "furniture on sites like craigslist and offerup just to get rid of it because they buy new stuff. They could also refabric. There are a million ways to redecorate on the cheap. Educate yourself and you too can freshen up your home.
ReplyDeleteThey make money from doing the show.
ReplyDeleteThe dark brown and tan couches are the same, the tan is a cover.
ReplyDeleteI inherited one of the sofas that my parents bought 40 years ago.
ReplyDeleteWho says it's new ? Maybe they bought a used couch , and they do get paid to be on television.
ReplyDeleteI like the updated now 😊
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice it makes the room brighter.
ReplyDeleteI think the beige couch is a slipcover over the purplish one as it's the same shape.
ReplyDeleteThe gray walls are my favorite. Makes the room brighter and more inviting. Love the blue accents!
ReplyDeleteThe beige sofa looks like a slipcover
ReplyDeleteThere not new. We buy nice furniture that is second hand. Dont compare your life to theirs. Maybe they are better with money.
ReplyDeleteThe second and third couch are same. It's slip covered. It's also not hard to find good deals on furniture especially if you buy used.
ReplyDeleteThe new look is cute, a great improvement.
ReplyDeleteShe used a couch cover over the dark brown one.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI really like the last/newest version much better. The lighter colors work well and make the room much brighter.
ReplyDeleteWow. 49 comments about a slipcover??
