What did you think of Thursday's episode? Zach and Whitney Bates go on a double date with Erin and Chad Paine to a cooking school to learn how to make two delicious dishes.
They prepare bruschetta with basil and mozzarella, as well as chicken piccata, and they all end up loving both dishes.
Back at the Bates house, Gil Bates teaches some of the "middle kids" basic car mechanics.
Erin Paine expresses her desire to take someone down...

I want to watch bringing up bates so badly!! I love this family! I hope one day I can watch their show... Thank you Lily and Ellie for giving some news about them
ReplyDeletei absolutely love seeing the siblings interact with each other like they do! especially the married couples. (such positive role models) i suspect we'll start seeing a bit more of josie, katie & possibly jackson interacting with the older siblings more as they're getting older too. they are all so lucky to have each other!
ReplyDeleteHow can someone in this day and age never have heard of bruschetta or chicken piccata? How sheltered were/are they?
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of them, either!
DeleteIf it weren't for cooking shows, I wouldn't know what bruschetta was. I haven't even heard of chicken piccata.
DeleteI am sure it is very expensive to feed a family that large. They also haven't eaten out much. I am sure they have mostly eaten things like spaghetti that would be inexpensive for a large family. That doesn't make them sheltered. As they grow up and start paying for their own meals, I am sure they get exposed to other foods.
DeleteAre you for real?
DeleteSheltered? As in protected from dangerous foods? :) It doesn't surprise me one bit that people who live in a rural setting, don't watch the Food Network, and don't eat out much wouldn't have heard of these foods.
DeleteYou can buy it on iTunes. That's what I do since I don't have UP. By the way the set-defense class and the holes in the walls cracked me up and made my week! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks but when I tried to buy it on amazon or i tunes I couldn't because it's not available in my country...
DeleteSame for me. I can't buy the episodes on Amazon in my country...Thanks to Lily and Ellie, I can keep up on the news. Enjoy this family so much, and find them not only inspirational, buy Godly role models!
DeleteHi Lily and Ellie! Just curious... In your title to this blog post, did you mean to say "Sibling Revelry" (which is merrymaking or partying) or "Sibling Rivalry" (which is competing or competition between two or more people)? Just curious as to which one you meant. Thank you for the work you do on the blog!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
DeleteThe episode is called "Sibling Revelry." Thanks for checking! Have a blessed day, and be sure to check out our other blogs (duggarfamilyblog.com and nashvillewife.com).

Calin looks like Rosie the Riveter!
ReplyDeleteThese easy to make recipes are all listed in many common cook books and they are online. A loaf of left over bread makes great bruschetta..tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and some common herbs I'm sure found in the Bates' pantry. Yes I agree it's strange to have NEVER heard of these items.
ReplyDeleteWell, it depends on which cookbooks you have and when they were published. And on whether you look for new recipes or rely on old family favorites. They may not have the time or interest in looking for new recipes since they're a pretty busy family.
DeleteZachs wife Whitney is so pretty but did anyone else happen to catch how short her salmon colored dress was during the interview part? When her legs were crossed I was like wowza!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could talk to Michaela! Her struggle with infertility touched my heart because, that was me and my husband! After a heartbreaking miscarriage, we were told that conceiving again would be difficult for us. I was crushed, but after much prayer, and a visit to my local CVS I found this product called The Stork OTC. Now, I'm not selling anything I promise! I used this product and now I'm expecting our rainbow baby this Feb. I just wish I could tell her about it! God Bless!
