"Mom has always been very overly cautious around water. I think I feel more secure knowing that Carson will know how to swim at a younger age."
-Erin (Bates) Paine
This week on Bringing Up Bates, the Bates babies are learning how to swim! Gil and Kelly's older kids had a difficult time learning because they were always required to wear life jackets (or "floats," as the Bates call them) in water. But that's all about to change for Ellie, Callie, Judson, Jeb, Bradley, and Carson. It's time for swimming lessons!

absolutely important! i never could learn, was actually kicked out of swimming classes back in the '60's for not being able to learn. period! start them young so they have a healthy respect of the water but not fear (like i still have, lol!)
ReplyDeleteKnowing how to swim is essential. Our kids started lessons at 3 yrs old, and all of them actually became lifeguards.
ReplyDeleteSwimming is a very important skill to learn. You never know when you will need to use it.It is also a great way to exercise!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up we never had official swimming lessons. Our parents taught us the basics and with a pool in our back yard we just kind of taught our self. I am so thankful that I know how to swim in case something would ever go wrong with water.
