Although they live three hours apart, Carlin Bates (19) and boyfriend Evan Stewart (22) are still able to see each other often. Last weekend, Carlin traveled to the Nashville area to spend time with her man. They had a date day at Topgolf, a large entertainment venue where folks of all skill levels can enjoy the game of golf. Topgolf has dozens of locations across the United States and even some in other countries.

Love that second picture of them!
ReplyDeleteLily/Ellie, since you know the family so well are they in an official courtship? I’ve noticed them holding hands in pictures and I know Tori didn’t do that until the courtship phase. Obviously you might not be allowed to tell us due to tv rules but I’ve been wondering.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
DeleteCarlin and Evan were given Gil and Kelly's blessing this summer to enter a courtship, but the announcement has not yet been made.
We are blessed to have you as a reader. :)

I watched that episode! I didn’t think an announcement was made they must be under more strict rules from the tv station bc they don’t seem to give information before it’s on tv. I’ve actually been a Duggar/Bates fan for a while and love both your blogs about them and the extra information you give that’s not always posted by them. Thanks for answering!
DeleteI see they are holding hands... When did they get engaged?
ReplyDeleteThey didn't. They just like to hold hands.
DeleteTo the best of my knowledge, they are not engaged. It is the Duggar parents who do not allow their kids to hold hands before engagement. The Bates family are much more reasonable in their approach to courtship.
DeleteThey're not engaged. Bates kids are allowed to hold hands before engagement.
DeleteThe Bates do not follow the same courting rules as the Duggars. They hold hands during courtship. Tori and Bobby did before engagement as well.
DeleteIn both families the children make their own rules for their relationships. Like Zach and Whitney kissed before marriage but Erin and Chad chose not to.
DeleteErin and Chad did not hold hands until engagement. I think Michael did the same.
DeleteThese two make a lovely couple!
ReplyDeleteEvan & Carlin make a great couple I see love is in the air with these 2 love birds. Hoping one day Carlin will be Mrs Evan Stewart. If Carlin has a daughter in the future she will look just like her.
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie & Lily I got a question I would like to ask will you guys ever do a update on Nathans former girlfriend Ashley on your blog soon? Like If she & Nathan still hang out as friends?
ReplyDeleteHi Neddy,
DeleteThe Bates family still sees Ashley, and she and Nathan are still friends.
Have a blessed day,
Lily and Ellie
Love the update and pics, any news on Josie's relationship?
ReplyDeleteI think I see an engagement ring on Carlin’s finger. Did they get engaged or is just a promise ring? Either way Carlin and Evan are a lovely couple!
ReplyDeleteThey look so happy together. May the Lord bless them in their path. I pray they have a happy life together whenever He sees fit.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the ring was given to her by her parents. A purity ring. They take each daughter out for a nice dinner, etc. When each daughter turns 16.They make it an Extra special time together and have ' That Extra Large Talk!'
ReplyDeleteBut, it will be exciting when she does replace the purity ring, with a wedding ring. They seem to treasure each phase in life and relationships.
They are so cute together
ReplyDeleteLove is love, how they wish to express it is up to them. As adults they can make their own decisions.
ReplyDeleteI find it wrong that Zach and Whitney had to 'apologize' to his parents and ask to be forgiven that they CHOSE to go ahead and kiss when courting. If it truly is the CHOICE of the couple, apologies and forgiveness should not be necessary from anyone....I don't buy the choice thing.
ReplyDeleteThey set certain standards for themselves, and I'm guessing they made a commitment to at least his parents, if not hers, that they would keep those standards. So if they broke that commitment or went against their word, then I don't think it's unreasonable for them to feel like an apology is in order.
