Bates in the Middle East

Lawson Bates and Nathan Bates in the Middle East
 Nathan Bates and Lawson Bates

In the past six months, Lawson and Nathan have embarked on multiple mission trips. They went on a medical mission trip to the Philippines with Trace and Carlin in August. Just a few weeks later, they were in Texas helping to rescue Hurricane Harvey victims, and a few weeks after that, they flew down to Puerto Rico to help with recovery following Hurricane Maria.

For the past few weeks, "Law" and "Kenny" (as their family calls them) have been over in the Middle East, bringing medical and emergency care to refugees and IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons). We ask you to pray for the effectiveness of their work, as well as for healing and peace in the Middle East.

    1. I am hoping they don't share that information, that would put them in danger

  6. These boys have courage and are living out their faith beautifully. I have lots of respect for Nathan whom I suspect is the mastermind behind these expeditions, while never seeking out recognition or posting anything on social media. I admire his character, putting his many skills to use to serve others.

  7. I will keep them in prayer, especially for their safety. I appreciate that you didn't disclose their exact location too for safety sakes and the people they will be working with.

  11. I am 74 years old, was raised Catholic and was NOT allowed to feel PROUD of myself - as it was a sin.
WELL, I have learned, as an adult that pride is a good thing - These two men should be so proud of themselves & their family should be bursting with pride. Lawson and Nathan have certainly demonstrated several times how they care for others. Nice knowing this family even though it is through their show. I feel that I speak for many "fans" - the Bates Family are terrific.
It is not my intent to exclude any of the Bates children as we know others have done great work in helping others in need. Bless them

  14. I feel it's important to point out that IDPs are actually Internally Displaced Persons, people who have had to flee their homes but have not crossed an internationally recognised border. A refugee, on the other hand, has crossed an international border. IDPs, while they may not be officially recognised or afforded the same status as refugees, frequently face the same challenges as refugees. In fact, because they remain within their own borders, they also frequently remain close to or inside areas of conflict, terror, risk and severe deprivation.
