"Multitasking like crazy? Running around all over the place? Sounds a lot like college and being in a long-distance relationship."
-Bobby Smith
Tomorrow on a new episode of Bringing Up Bates, in addition to watching Michael, Erin, and Kelly decorate the Keilens' new place, we will check in with Chad Paine at the metal recycling facility where he works.
Another employment opportunity has presented itself, so Chad is looking for someone to take his current job...and he is hoping that person will be Bobby. In the video below, Chad shows Bobby what he has been doing for the past few years. Bobby also plans to spend time helping out at the Bates' church, while he and Tori search for a more permanent ministry opportunity.

Is the oldest daughter Michael or Michaela? Her name is usually written here as Michael but occasionally as Michaela.
ReplyDeleteMichael but Michaela/Michaella is her nickname.
DeleteI think her name is Michaela but she goes by Michael.
DeleteHer name was originally Michael after David’s daughter Michael in the Bible. That was before Gil and Kelly knew about some of the Biblical Michael’s character and mistakes. They then started calling her Michaela, but because officially changing a name they kept her name as Michael.
DeleteI'm curious why they chose to spell it Michael, which is typically a boy spelling (the Biblical one is spelled Michal).
DeleteThey named her Michal, then wanted to change it. Legally at the time they could only change one letter, so they made it Michael. It sounds masculine so they often call her Michaela.
DeleteLily & Ellie I got a question to ask is there any updates on Ashley Slayer? Nathans EX. Time 7:35PM.
ReplyDeleteHi Neddy,
DeleteNo official updates on Ashley. She is still close with the family and was at Tori and Bobby's wedding helping out.
Lily and Ellie
So nice Chad is showing Bobby how to do his job he was doing for years now. Time 7:36PM
ReplyDeleteNow that Chad is leaving the metal plant does that mean he and Erin are setting up their furniture making business. I also would like to know if Chad and Erin are buying a home. They are my absolute favorite couple.
ReplyDeleteLove how the Bates' sons-in-laws work jobs outside the family dynasty!
ReplyDeleteSo do I Anon. It is wonderful to be a close knit family, but when the parents control where a couple live and how (and how much) money they earn, they are in control of the couple. This doesn't allow them to grow together w/o interference. Kudos to the sons-in-law and Zach for establishing their own path.
DeleteNot knocking another well known family, but I like that The Bates let their kids choose their own paths and that the girls as well as the men can work and go to college if the choose to.
DeleteAgree. I think you can be a close-knit family, but still live your own lives, earn your own keep, and make your own decisions.
DeleteLike is it a requirement for the girls to attend CROWN COLLEGE???
DeleteI think they choose Crown because it's close to home and they can save money by not paying for college housing.
DeleteOh. Okay thanks.
DeleteEllie, do you know if Chad and Erin are in a different house by now? Or working on a fixer upper like Zachs are?
