Carlin Bates: "Erin's first house, her decorating styles were definitely a test run because her whole entire room...was bright pink."
Chad Paine: "I felt like I went into a little dollhouse every night to go to sleep."
Erin is the Bates family's unofficial decorator, but she admits that it took plenty of trial and error to reach that point. Hear more in the bonus scene below.

Erin's husband, Chad, is a keeper! Such a good sport about the pink bedroom and doing all the repainting. I'm afraid my husband would have drawn the line with that color, most definitely. (Not that I'm a fan of pink in the first place!)
ReplyDeleteErin has some nice touches; but she is not an authority on interior design yet. I'm sure Michael appreciated her help; but I think Michael could do just as well without her help. I, also, felt Erin was a bit fresh to her Mom.
ReplyDeleteYup, I was thinking the same thing about how Erin sort of had an unkind tone to her voice when saying her mom thinks "everything" is beautiful! I think, how really sweet her Mom thinks everything her daughters do IS beautiful❤
DeleteMichaela was completely confused on the subject and shared how it overwhelmed her. Interior design has elementary elements - the ones Erin was sharing, and it was obvious Michaela could not comprehend or visualize them. As far as being "fresh" to her Mom: Her mother stated she doesn't have an ounce of creativity as far as interior design is concerned.
DeleteErin was out of line with her comments about her mom. So what, if Kelly thinks everything is beautiful; she's a good mom❤
DeleteI think Michaela was just being sweet to her sister. Not that she didn't appreciate some help; but I think Michaela could decorate her own home just fine if UP didn't need something to show.
DeleteI love Erin’s style! Who cares if she has a degree or whatever. Talent is talent.
DeleteThis couple is cute. I love Chad's patience
ReplyDeleteI make the decisions when it comes to decorating and furnishing our house. I have given my husband a veto-right though :D But only pink room in our house is our daughter's room. Chad -bless his heart- is a trooper! They make a great couple!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe she had him live with a pink bedroom. Could be because she never had a room to herself and this was her chance to have the color of her choice.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteIn regards to all the pink bedroom comments....I married my husband 20 years ago, 2nd marriage for us both. Will add that he's 13 years older than me. He's spent several years doing carpentry and can remodel and fix anything! I wanted a pink bedroom! He made sure I got my wish! Pink cabbage roses wall paper! Girly doilys on the nightstands! Hand painted pink cabbage roses on my lamps that look straight out of "Gone With the Wind"! Victorian dressed fancy dolls atop my TV cabinet! 4 poster king size bedroom set made of real cherry wood! Even little cherry wooden steps on both sides of the bed to climb in and out of bed! Secondary colors are a moss green, similar to celery green, and off-white beige like! Beige ruffled curtains! It is gorgeous! My friends and family all want me to do their decor too. I truly believe my husband was so accepting of it all due to his age, plus he has 3 daughters with his first wife, he gets it! I've NEVER heard anyone ever say even 1 bad word about my husband. His personality is actually alot like Erin's husband Chad too! Not has my husband ever complained about our pink bedroom! I thank God every day he and I found each other, he's 1 in a trillion! So, Erin, you're not the only one with a pink bedroom dream that came true!
DeleteI remember the episode on 19 Kids and Counting when Erin gave a tour of their home with the pink bedroom. lol She has really come a long way. Love Chad and Erin! They are so great together.
ReplyDeleteLove how Erin has really come so far in her decorating! I need her to come and do mine!
ReplyDeleteThey are such a cute couple and so fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteI love the way Erin giggled about how extravagant the courtship proposals have become in last week's episode. Did anyone else catch how she said, "It used to be we would go...out to dinner!" I love, love, love the Bates but this whole courtship scavenger hunt thing is just too over the top for any couple, Christian or not. I think the Bates need to tone things down before all the years of teaching modesty (including all things not just dress) goes down the tubes. Kinda reminds me of Sarah Palin's kids. Just too, too much!
ReplyDeleteI think some of Erin's wall groupings look a little dated ,like from the 80s 90s
ReplyDeleteAnd the pastel colors.....❗️I don't care for cute cute either...😬
You mean michealla? Erin's house is not in pastel
DeleteI love Erin's decorating style. From a design perspective it fits their cottage and location perfectly! She and Chad have done a LOT with a little!
DeleteTheir house is darling outside too. When I see it I think of the country song "Love grows big in little houses" sweet family and love, love, love Erins feminine style, so pretty. Truly a gorgeous lady love her makeup and hair tutorials online.
