Kelly Bates, Meema, and Kay (one of Kelly's sisters)
Kelly’s mom, whom the family calls Meema, drove to Tennessee from North Carolina for the event, but she fell on Sunday and fractured two of her lower vertebrae. She had surgery but has a long road to full recovery. We know the family would appreciate your prayers, especially as Meema attempts to travel home tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteWhy is Kelly wearing glasses here? I thought Gil bought her Lasik surgery so she wouldn't need her glasses any more?
I think, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, the reason Kelly had eye surgery wasn't for her vision, but for another problem with her eyes (cataracts? glaucoma? iritis? there are several possibilities)
DeleteI think she still wears reading glasses.

ReplyDeletePrayers and good thoughts for a speedy recovery to Meema - I am 74 and am told all the time that falls are the most dangerous things for elderly.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the state of your bones and agility. My Mum fallen on ice and wet walkway few times in her 70s and thankfully a little bruised but fine.
DeleteThey can be very hard to recover from for an older person, even deadly. Thankfully my elderly parent has been able to recover from several falls as well.
DeletePraying! 🙏
