In celebration of 4th of July and Papa Bill's 80th birthday, the entire Bates family gathered with Gil's parents and siblings at the family farm in South Carolina. They also had a photographer duo, Caleb and Brittany Cruse from Cruse Creative, take new photos. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteAny chance we can get pictures of Papa Bill and Janie and Greg, Jeni and their families? The Thanksgiving episode is my favorite, each season, because I really enjoy Gil's family of birth. I've never entered the 20th Bates Contest, but I'd totally sign-up for a "hang out with Papa Bill, Janie, Greg & Jeni on the farm" contest (I'd even happily cook the entire Thanksgiving meal and let Janie rest).

ReplyDeleteThey cancelled last minute from speaking at the ATI Family Conference in Sacramento so they could be at PaPa Bill's birthday and 4th of July celebration in SC. Time will tell but I'm pretty sure that the UP television cameras were they as well.

ReplyDeleteThey did a good job. Getting a picture where everyone looks nice in a huge group is hard. Our yearbook person took a group teacher photo and half the people had their eyes closed!

ReplyDeleteThis is not a criticism, but are some of them wearing the same clothes in the second picture as in the first picture? Looks like Gil and Kelly and one of the girl's dresses are repeats! Not that it is a problem just something that jumped out at me :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are all wearing the same pics because this pictures are from the same photoshoot. The 2 pics were probably taken minutes apart....

DeleteThe Gil, Kelly, and their 19 children are wearing the same outfits in both pictures. The two pictures were taken during the same photoshoot. They first one is a picture of the "original" Bates family and then included the married kids' families as well as Kelton and Evan.

DeleteGil and Kelly have raised a beautiful family. They all look sooo happy! I know to some degree what a large family is, as my parents have 12 children and 45 grandchildren. And I know what it's like to feel that kind if happiness! Having a big family gives you the best friends in life one could ever have!
