Websters on Labor Day Weekend

We hope our American and Canadian readers are enjoying their Labor Day holiday. The Websters took a new family photo this weekend. Zoey is five months old, while Allie is three and Lexi is one and-a-half. In the past, Alyssa and John have said that they would love to have six children, although that was a while ago. Perhaps they will end up with three boys and three girls.

  1. Six is our number. It's lovely and I wouldn't have it any other way.

  2. She also said on the show that if the next baby was a girl then they were going to be done.

  3. I have no idea how they always look so put together with that many kids so close in age 😆

    1. I know! Alyssa is tiny and she looks great after having three babies! I didn't look half as good after only 2!

  6. Such a sweet family, the girls are so cute. Three boys would be amazing, but regardless of whether they have boys or girls, Alyssa and John are such wonderful parents, as are all the other Bates children. Blessings to all the Bates and their families.

  7. How does one "leave it up to God" and also plan how many kids they want? I don't think it works that way, haha.

    1. The Websters have never said they were leaving it up to God. I’m pretty sure Alyssa has said she wanted 6 from the beginning. It’s possible they’re taking a different path than her parents, and that’s okay.

    2. But I'm not sure that Alyssa has ever stated she plans to "leave it up to God". She obviously now has different beliefs from her parents regarding how to dress, and she is working outside the home whereas her mother didn't. So it's very possible she has different beliefs about birth control, too.

Indeed, unlike the Duggars, I don't recall any of the second generation Bates ever saying those words. Doesn't mean they don't believe that, of course. Maybe the show prefers they don't talk about it. But for some reason I doubt any second gen Bates will have anywhere near 19 kids. Even the 6 kids the Websters think are ideal, would be considered a "big family" compared to most in the US these days.

  8. I lived near a couple that had 6 boys trying to get a girl before they stopped.

    1. I have a friend who had 6 boys and her 7th was a girl. Had her tubes tied the next morning due to health reasons. The daughter is a wonderful young woman- well worth that 7th try😄

  9. I would be happy with either girls or boys. I wouldn't stop based on what the gender of my next baby is...

  10. I wish they were on the show more often, but respect that their privacy and work ethic keeps them at home.

  11. Alyssa always dresses the girls so cute and they are immaculate, she is a very good mother.

    1. Making your kids look "immaculate" doesn't make you a good mother.

    2. She didn't say that. Maybe she knows her personally.

    3. I do know Alyssa and she is a perfect mother.

    4. I read that the same way @1:55. Alyssa may be a good mama but no one is perfect.
