'Big Apple Bride' Recap

Bringing Up Bates "Big Apple Bride"

  • It’s time to find Josie a wedding dress. She wants a flowy gown with laced longs sleeves. She found one online that she loves, but it’s in New York City. “It sounds expensive, doesn’t it?” Kelly jokes with Gil. She is up for the adventure.
  • They decide to take Whitney, since she has never been to the Big Apple. Kelly, Carlin, and Katie take a double decker bus tour of the city when they arrive. They enjoy taking in all the iconic sites like Time Square. “Whitney is over-the-top excited,” says Kelly.
  • But Josie has one thing on her mind, and that's the dress. At her dress appointment, she ends up finding "the one," making a few changes to fit her modesty standards.
  • Later, Evan and Carlin go ring shopping with Evan’s brother Ethan, Callie, and Katie. “Carlin, she wants it to be a together process,” says Kelly. Evan admits he is concerned that he is going to choose a ring that Carlin dislikes.
  • While the girls are in New York on their “money spending trip” as Gil calls it, he and some of the boys go golfing.

  1. OK, I realize this is trivial and shallow but I was distracted by Josie's fingernails when she was typing on the computer. It looked like she needed them to be blended in with her natural nails near the cuticle. Too much of a ridge present. Gorgeous color though.

    1. Hee hee, I noticed that too! Yes, they were a pretty color, though! So happy she found a dress. Such a sweet family!

  2. I did not like the first dress she tried on! It was very immodest!

    1. But, in my opinion, no more immodest than Whitneys vow renewal dress. Her shoulders and half of her back were exposed. I know Gil and Kelly cannot say anything to Zach and Whitney, but I'd love to know their true honest thoughts. I'm sure they are cringing and praying! Lol!

  3. Oh, my. You would really be distracted by my nails. Broken and no polish. No time! :)

    1. I notice nails because mine are so thin and weak that I can never grow them out before they break. So I have serious nail envy of those who have nice ones. I'm too cheap to get acrylic ones. ;)

  4. I'm sure that huge slit up the front was sewn up!
