ReplyDeleteUnknown- I'm an adoptive parent and our kids are now grown. Don't be at all surprised if the ideas or plans you have now for their future weddings are not embraced by your children when the time comes. They may not want much fuss and just want a simple private ceremony. Let them do the planning and take their lead. There's also the very real possibility that one or more may not want to ever get married and you'll have to accept that, too.

DeleteIt must be exhausting planning so many back-to-back showers and weddings. It's a good thing they seem to be a high-energy family. I'm perfectly satisfied with having just two kids!

DeleteI agree that a bridal shower with women only is NOT unique. It's the traditional thing to do..also, children usually do not attend. It is a time for the LADIES to get together and give the bride to be gifts for her household.
ReplyDeleteAt the many bridal showers I have attended there have always been children. Bachelorette parties do not.
DeleteThere were girls at my shower as well as ladies. Nothing wrong with including girls, especially if there are young sisters in the family like the Bates have.
