Last season on Bringing Up Bates, we watched the Bates kids give their living room, kitchen, and dining room a complete overhaul as a surprise for their parents, who were in Utah for Josie's engagement. They barely finished in time, but their hard work paid off. (Click here to see the before and after photos.)
This time, the siblings decided to take their redecorating to the next level (literally...because they went upstairs) and give Gil and Kelly Bates' master bedroom a makeover. Doesn't it look amazing? The masterminds behind the new design were Erin and Chad Paine, Zach and Whitney Bates, and Carlin Bates. For those looking to do some redecorating of their own, here is a list of some of the supplies they used:
Comforter: Purchased at Stein Mart
Family photos on Canvas: Ordered from Easy Canvas Prints
Bed: Ordered from Wayfair
Lamps, pillows greenery, curtains: Purchased at Target and Hobby Lobby
Paint: Sherwin-Williams (dark is peppercorn and light is aesthetic white)
Nightstands, bench, dresser, vanity: Refinished by Chad Paine
We have also included a before and after photo of the change that the room underwent in 2015.

What color are the lower bedroom walls painted? Appears black or very dark gray on my I Pad screen.

ReplyDeleteThat's lovely and nice.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteerin sure has emerged as quite the decorator! love seeing how her style has changed over the years too. i think it looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove the bedroom!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they have any window covering IN THEIR BEDROOM? I don't care how much land surrounds their house, a bedroom with a light on CAN be seen from afar? One should have shades or blinds on their bedroom windows. They don't have any in their living room either. Is this a religious thing?
ReplyDeleteBoth the master bedroom and living room have drapes as the window treatment. They can close them at any time for privacy or to keep the sun out.
DeleteIn case you missed it @6:42 there ARE curtains that all one has to do is close them plus the curtains are not sheer so they have plenty of privacy. And no is is not a "religious" thing.
DeleteHow could it possibly be a religious thing? I don’t have shades or blinds in my house. My curtains are thick, and you can’t see through them. We close them at night for privacy.
DeleteBeautiful. I need help with painting my house
ReplyDeleteJust a quick question: are the short drapes just a style they like or is there another reaso? I assume shorter drapes might be easier with small kids so they dont pull on them or get food, etc. on them. But just curious. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThey’re cheaper and most stores only carry short drapes.
DeleteBeautiful! The girls have gotten better and better at redecorating each year!
ReplyDeleteWhat season and episode was this?
