It's the first week of May, which means that strawberry season is kicking off across Tennessee. Do you like strawberries? Do you enjoy picking them straight from the bush, or would you rather buy them from a grocery store or farmer's market?

ReplyDeleteI love strawberries from a market. I tasted it it was so good.
Love picking them fresh, from my own backyard, no doubt about it. So delicious!!!! Plus, I know there are no pesticides....organic!!!!! When picked ripe, you don't even need sugar, because they're already sweet enough. Yum yum
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful kids
ReplyDeleteWhere we live, strawberries won’t be in season for another six weeks or so. We pick our own and freeze enough for the winter months. My husband likes to make jam. There’s nothing like sinking your teeth into freshly picked berries, still warm from the sun!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I would love to have fresh strawberries!
ReplyDeleteI like with sugar... sweet picture
ReplyDeleteI like strawberries when dipped in chocolate or in strawberry shortcake with whipped cream.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that enormous thing on Brooklyn's head? I kind of feel sorry for these baby girls, who are made to wear gigantic bows on their heads.
ReplyDeleteSome little girls like girly accessories. I don't feel in the least bit sorry for them.
DeleteI think it was Erin who bought that bow and decided her two-year old should wear it. I doubt Brooklyn was consulted. Little girls heads should be free from worldly accessories. They should be the way God made them! Why isn't that good enough?
DeletePriding yourself on lack of accessories is just as bad as priding yourself on designer accessories. It’s pride either way. Judging another mom and making the assumption that they don’t think God made their children good enough is unchristian and unbiblical on so many levels I don’t even know where to begin.
DeleteSo little Amish girls shouldn't wear head coverings because that isn't the way God made them? I think Brooklyn looks adorable.
DeleteIf she didn't like the bow, I don't think it would have stayed in her hair long. I hated accessories like that as a child and still do as an adult. Each one was out within 10 minutes of playing.
DeleteOne of my daughters hates them too. I would put one in for a picture and she would pull it out (even at 6 months). The other won't go to school now without a bow (that could double as a hat).
11:01, with that logic we shouldn’t wear clothes as that’s not how God made us. Pretty silly logic if you ask me.
DeleteClothes protect our skin from the sun and inclement weather. That bow does nothing to benefit Brooklyn. A cap would be better, if she has to wear something on her head.
DeleteThe benefit is adornment, which may be the same reason Carson is wearing his cap. If protection were an issue, I'm sure their mom would have made sure all three had hats on.
DeleteStrawberry season won't start until late June/early July here. But nothing beats the Norwegian strawberries, so they are SO worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteFrom the vine absolutely
ReplyDeleteSweet strawberries for three sweeties.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn,Joan and Marion
Anywhere I can get my hands on some!! I love fresh strawberries, I'm in Tennessee too!
ReplyDeletethat little girl have such huge bow on her head...
ReplyDeleteThat little boy's cap is even bigger.
DeleteIt seems so unfair that Carson gets protection from the sun with his cap, and Brooklyn has to wear that gigantic bow.
DeleteInteresting that so many people have pointed out the “huge” now on Brooklyn’s head but nothing about the even bigger ball cap on Carson? My girls would rather wear a bow any day over a hat which they find annoying. But there’s no underlying judgements about a typically “male” accessory like there is over the girly one.
ReplyDeleteStrawberries are also great in salads
ReplyDeletePeople, people, people ! 3 very beautiful kids, eating fresh strawberries ! What could be wrong ? Plus I buy those same bows for my granddaughter for years. She loved them - they were fun for her & she loved the colors to match her outfits !! How else does a little girl learn to dress like a little lady till she becomes grown ?? Kids learn by example, stop picking on a little girl & just enjoy the fact they share their time with us. This is a great family, holding example to us all. I only wish I would have had that same guidance in my life. Our world is becoming a very strange place, enjoy the good while you can. Also a lesson to all - when you speak bad to or about others - you are really reflecting yourself & what you believe about yourself. Dont tease & put down others to make yourself feel better.
ReplyDeleteMO- Oh my goodness! All this fuss about a bow and a baseball cap.... All I'll say is the kids are cute! :o)
ReplyDeleteThey sure are cute! Some people just like to sharpen their criticism skills, I guess, and it's safer to do it to complete strangers rather than to people they actually know. At least I hope they're not like that with people they actually know!
DeleteStrawberries are not grown on bushes....
ReplyDeleteLOL, strawberries grow on small plants very close to the ground. There is no such thing as a strawberry bush.
