Carlin Stewart and Evan Stewart show off their ultrasound photo
It's been a little while (okay, not that long) since the Bates have made a big announcement. Don't you think it's time for another one? How about two big announcements?
Carlin Bates married Evan Stewart on May 25th, and this morning, the couple is thrilled to share with the world that they will soon be a family of three. That's right, Carlin is pregnant! Baby Stewart is scheduled to arrive in February 2020. Check out the announcement video below, and then keep reading for another reveal. More photos of the Stewarts with the first snapshot of their little one can be found on the UPtv website.
Are you ready for announcement #2? New episodes of Bringing Up Bates will return to UPtv on Thursday, September 19th, at 9pm ET/8pm CT!

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the show has been renewed.
WooHoo! Congratulations Carlin and Evan! So happy for you both.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new arrivals I am so happy for you Carlin and Evan Stewart.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations
ReplyDeleteMy heart almost stopped at the title and picture... thought it was twins!!
ReplyDeleteResponding to 12:29PM- MO. I thought the same thing! haha- :o)
DeleteSame!
DeleteBefore I saw the photo, I also thought the x2 in the headline meant they were having twins!
DeleteFeel bad for Michaela...but happy for Carlin and Evan!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Carlin an Evan!!!
ReplyDeleteWe KNEW IT when we saw the recent photo of Carlin with her hands in front of her tummy, just a hunch but a good one!
Much love to yall and your beloved families!!
Yay! Congratulations to Evan and Carlin!
ReplyDeleteAll these people having kids. It seems like all they do. What about jobs?
ReplyDeleteNot all women want or need jobs. Some people enjoy just being amazing moms to their children.
DeleteI feel the same way. They are so young! They should work and have fun for a few years and have kids later. Women are fertile well into their 30s.
DeleteSorry but a baby announcement is more exciting than a “I got off work at 6 this evening!” announcement. Jobs are necessary, expected, oftentimes not enjoyed, and—most of all—never called blessings in the Bible.
Delete@ 12:49
DeleteYou can be an amazing mom and work outside the home at the same time!
5:11- Since when is having a job that can provide for one's family not a blessing? Also, I find it very exciting when someone tells me about a new job or promotion. If they're happy about it, I'm happy for them! I was over the moon when I was hired for my first teaching position. I'm retired now, but I thoroughly enjoyed my career. And yes, I also am happily married and raised two wonderful children. Something tells me that either you aren't employed, are a SAHM defending your choices, or you have a job you really don't like. In any event, I'm sorry for you.
Delete@12:49- I know many working moms who are amazing, too! Here's the thing, I feel young women are doing themselves a huge favor by having job skills/training/education that will help them find employment. Working for a few years before having kids helps them to learn to be independent. You can't always rely on a man to support you, because life is just not predictable. My sister learned this when her husband passed away at a young age, leaving her with three small children to support.
DeleteOf course it’s a blessing to be able to provide for self and family. Never said it wasn’t. What I was saying was that time and time again, the Bible calls children blessings from God. That’s why people celebrate them with pictures. Of course jobs can also be blessings, but there aren’t entire sacred texts devoted to how precious they are or how they are crafted individually by God. Your response showed your bias, and you tried to uplift your own thoughts by turning me into some sort of caricature you have a “feeling” about. Yikes. Have a good day.
Delete5:19, I never said that moms who work aren’t good moms, however they are simply not as involved in their children’s lives as moms who actually live with their children.
Deleteanon@8:58- You are making a very broad generalization that working moms are not as involved with their children's lives as SAHM. There are women who may be at home, but are not present in an emotional or supportive role, for whatever reason. I've seen this too many times to count.
Delete8:58, that is not true, my mom is a working mom and she was very much involved with me and my sisters life. And where did you get the idea that working moms don’t live with their children is it a typo or do you really think that?
DeleteToo bad there’s this SAHM vs working moms mindset going here. Why can’t we just admit that everyone’s circumstances are different and what works in one family might not work in another. It’s not a competition. Most people I know are doing the best they can and raising good kids, regardless of whether or not both parents have jobs outside the home.
DeleteAnonymousSeptember 5, 2019 at 2:53 PM, your idea, while it may be practical, but female bodies don't work that way. In fact, the LONGER one waits to have children, by the time they are "ready" according to society's standards, their bodies will have a hard time conceiving because the eggs are NOT in tip-top shape.
Delete@6:31- I don't think it's a good idea for anybody to rush into a young marriage, simply because their biological clock is ticking. Fertility starts to decline after the age of 30. Michelle Duggar continued to have kids into her 40s.
Delete5:28, that was actually a typo. I meant more so living with them during the day, rather than being apart for at least 8 hours while a child is at school. Once again, I did not say that working moms are bad parents, or that they do not love and care for their children, however, a mom who is with her children during the day is obviously going to be able to give more time and attention to her children as opposed to someone who only sees their children for an hour in the morning, and then from MAYBE 5-9 in the evening, and on weekends.
Delete9;36, when a child is at school they are apart from their mother regardless of whether they work or not. If the mom gets off work at the same time the kids leave school, there is absolutely no difference in the amount of time SAHM and working moms spend with their kids is it not?
DeleteCongratulations on your new baby news.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to all three of you and yoyr families.🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎈🎈🎈🎈👶
Yayyy!!! Congrats y'all!! Prayers for a easy pregnancy, safe delivery and healthy baby!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting! I'm so happy for them! Congratulations, Carlin and Evan :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Carlin and Evan on the upcoming birth of your baby.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn,Joan and Marion
Congrats to them. For some reason I think she might be having twins. Which would be the first for the Bates family. I have no idea why but I just have this hunch. Praying for a safe pregnancy for her and easy delivery.
ReplyDeleteThe ultrasound photo shows just one fetus.
Delete6:13, why not just say baby?
DeleteBecause it’s is a fetus that’s the scientific term.
Delete8:56, because it’s a free country
DeleteSometimes the sonogram does not show all the preborn babies in the womb. In several cases, there is a baby that is hiding from the view.
Delete5:29, so do you call everything by it’s Latin name? Do you call dogs “canis”? I doubt that. Fetus is just Latin for “unborn baby”, the only reason people so commonly say that today is to dehumanize and remove emotion from babies so further justify their own agendas.
Delete@9:31 I call anything in what ever language I want to, I don’t have to justify or explain my reason to any homo sapian. And who are you to say I don’t call dogs Canis?
DeleteCongrats.; but...couldn’t just one Bates daughter have a career for a year before getting pregnant???
ReplyDeleteNo.
DeleteWhy? There are many women who don’t WANT careers.
DeleteAmen!
DeleteSo sorry their lives don’t meet your preferences. That must be very difficult and painful for you to have to deal with :(
DeleteShe does not have to work outside the home. Do you not understand that this is a free country and people can make their own choices.
DeleteCongratulations!!!! knew it! I could definitely see it in their recent pics from Evans birthday trip. SO THRILLED AND HAPPY for you two😁!!! Can't wait to hear if the heaven sent addition to their little family will be boy💙 or girl💟!💞
ReplyDeletePoor Michaela...another sister pregnant. Gosh that’s got to be rough on her.
ReplyDeleteMichaela seems like a really mature person. I think she would be happy for her sister and brother in law. I also think she is enjoying being married, uninterrupted sleep, quality time alone with her spouse, etc... She seems like the type of person that looks on the bright side of life.
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteThat’s great! I was saying in the comments section in another post that poor Michaela, now another sister pregnant
ReplyDeleteAgree and they announce it in such a big manner. You’d think her sister’s would be more sensitive to her:(
Delete3:41, the Bates girls don’t have to hide their own excitement about having children just because one of their sisters can’t conceive. That’s just a part of life sometimes. Brandon and Michael could just as easily have put the money they used to try and get answers about their infertility to an adoption, but that’s not the route they chose.
DeleteCongratulations Carlin and Evan, maybe a Valentine's baby
ReplyDeleteCongratulations God blessing little one
ReplyDeleteCongratulations
ReplyDeleteOh for a moment I thought they were having twins! Congratulations to a lovely couple!
ReplyDeleteIt is a grandbaby #13 for Bates'! They now have 7 kids married and 13 grandkids. Duggars have 8 kids married now and Abbie is pregnant with their 17th grabdbaby. Bates's are catching up! :)
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, Bates's have only 2 little Bates's (3rd one s coming in November, they are Zach's kids). While Duggars have 10 little Duggars (I count pregnancies too - Josh's, John's, Joe's and Josiah's).
I feel for Michael and Brandon....as Michael has been watching her sisters and sister in law be expecting. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteMe, too. It must be very painful for her to hear one announcement after another...public ally, too.
DeleteI’m curious what’s printed on her leg underneath her knee?
ReplyDeleteThere isn't anything printed below her knee
DeleteSomething USA, it looks like.
DeleteWow. Another honeymoon baby
ReplyDeleteCarlin said she basically switched to going to school online to help her family and help out with the younger kids. Now she gets pregnant as soon as she’s wed. I hope that’s what she wanted.
Of course that’s what she wanted; having babies is what every Bates daughter/daughter in law strives for once married.
DeleteLike most women in the western world if she didn’t want to get pregnant she could’ve gotten contraception. Yes her parents don’t believe in it but she isn’t her parents and her reproductive health is her choice so she has always had that option.
DeleteI feel for Michaela...all of her siblings have so easily gotten pregnant (Erin has since with intervention for blood clotting). I can’t imagine how each pregnancy announcement pulls at her and Brandon’s hearts.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your sweet blessing! I am so happy for you!!🤗
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the wedding and then a new little one. You have a new annoucement almost every week. Never a dull moment in your lives.I watch yall everytime its on whether the morn. Noon or night. I have a 23 year old grand daughter that has never been married and never been kissed. Our family is praying for a Christian young man for her as well as she is also praying. Please let us know if you have a sweet young man in your home that would marry another girl from Oklahoma. She is beautiful inside and out and I would love to see her with a young Christian man.
ReplyDeleteThere are sweet Christian young men in Oklahoma as well. You don’t have to look to a TV show for her where you are only seeing the edited highlights of his personality. God will bring someone her way in His timing.
DeleteUnknown; I find it troubling that you're advertising for a suitor for your granddaughter on an internet blog. It sounds desperate. Can't she get out and meet people on her own? I think young women should be encouraged to be their own independent person and not be made to feel like they're nothing unless they are a wife and mother.
DeleteSome people had mentioned a baby bump on previous posts. They were right!
ReplyDeleteThey just go married may 25th so the baby must be due around Feb 25-29.
ReplyDeleteJust because they got married May 25th, you don't know the dates of her cycle. She could be due as early as Feb 15th, full term.
DeletePLEASE wait for Carlin to announce her due date. Counting "9 months" forward is not how a due date is calculated. It's based on a certain number of days [remember not all months have the same number of days] from a woman's last cycle, which could have been a couple of weeks earlier than (in this case) May 25th. Thus, the due date could be earlier -- or later -- than the dates you mentioned. That's why we should let Carlin tell everyone when the baby is due. Thanks.
DeleteOP that’s not how a due date works. If Carlin got pregnant on her honeymoon that would put her at around February 11th, and even then it could come sooner.
Deleteknew it was coming, not surprised!
ReplyDeleteI just realized that she had to be very newly pregnant at the time that Joy Anna lost her baby. It had to be so exciting for them to be pregnant at the same time, and extra devastating to know that one pregnancy would continue and the other would not. So sad.
ReplyDeleteHoneymoon baby! She is sort of following Joy - Joy got married on May 26th and Gideon was born February 23rd next year. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYes, you're right. I didn't think of that. And they are best friends, so that's sweet that they're following the same pattern.
DeleteI'm very happy for Carlin... and I feel sad for Michaela who is the oldest daughter, 29 now, and her younger sisters get married and immediately have babies. Erin had miscarriages right after her wedding but was able to have her first baby 1.5 year after her wedding. Four other sisters (Alyssa, Tori, Josie and now Carlin) all having honeymoon babies. I so hope Michaela will be able to have a baby too!
ReplyDeleteAww. Yay! So excited for Carlin and Evan! What a beautiful glow on their faces full of excitement and love! I know they will be great parents! Can't wait for the season to start! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you all💖 Our daughter in law and son is expecting again March 30, 2020. They lost their tein boys in 2028. Pray for Deanna and Douglas Oxendine of Pembroke NC. Slso as we wait for the hurricane dorian to arrive. Praise God we know the master of the dtorms.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both. Praying for your health during this wonderful time. I know that Michaella and Brandon will rejoice about the news - but it is heart breaking for them (I have been where they are and know the pain - the Lord is my comfort)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to carli n and evan. Has MichAela and BRandon ever thought of adopting?
