Carlin's Visitor

This week, Carlin had a short visit from her best friend, Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth. Joy traveled from Northwest Arkansas to East Tennessee to meet Layla, who is almost three weeks old. You can see a photo of the two besties with Layla on our blog about the Duggar family.

  1. I never understand why we don't see more of friendships on BUB. Carlin and Joy's friendship has always interested me. Yes, there are on different channels but the same production owns the rights to BUB and Counting on.

It would be nice to break up the courtships stuff and see actual friendships.

    1. Their friends may not want their friendships used for television.

    2. Once, the Bates or Duggars start having friends appear on their shows, all kinds of legal issues will begin to pop up. The friends will then have "workplace guidelines", including payment for their appearances. This opens up a can of worms that neither of these families probably don't want to get into.

    1. Hi. Original poster here. Actually your wrong. BUB and CO are owned by Figure 8 Films. They are the group that actually brought the shows to TLC and UPTV. So yes, they're own by the same company and you can research if you don't believe me. It's just on different networks.

@9:39 PM, You are right SOME friends may not want to be on TV. But it would be nice to see something different besides courtships, and babies. As I stated. The Bates are more than just courtship and babies right? Just a thought.

    2. @10:03 AM The distribution deals are done by TLC and UP, not Figure 8. That's why you saw Joy at Carlin's wedding but she never spoke on camera.

  4. Why is it a sin to use the term 'visit'? Is using the term 'fellowshipping' more pleasing to God? Will 'visiting' not cause one to not go to Heaven? Really, it's ridiculous with all of this 'religious speak'.

    1. Whoever said it was a sin? Nobody that I've seen.

    2. Your reaction to someone using the word 'fellowshpping' is ridiculous!

    3. Fellowship means to associate or visit with like-minded people. I think religious people tend to use it when referring to socializing within their membership or groups.

    4. I hate the use of the fellowship as a verb. It's not a verb.

    5. The "religious speak" is often words straight from the Bible, which means people unfamiliar with the Bible will think it's weird. People familiar with the Bible will be more likely to use it naturally in conversation, because it's part of their vocabulary. As to your questions, the answers are : 1. No one said it was a sin (except you). 2. No. 3. No.

  5. Nothing is wrong with the comment the person posted about fellowshipping and visiting same thing what a ridiculous thing to say. Just to different words with the same meaning. Like there and their. Said the same just different meaning in fact it’s not a sin to say visiting. 😊 John 3:3 ( Amazing verse look it up some time.)
