December is a big month for the Bates family, especially for a few of its members. Zach and Whitney Bates, Tori and Bobby Smith, and Gil and Kelly Bates all celebrate their anniversaries. Zach and Tori also have birthdays, and Gil's birthday is New Year's Day. Happy 7th wedding anniversary to Zach and Whitney!

Happy 7th Anniversary you two. Seven years later, you both have 3 (soon to be 4) beautiful children and great careers that provide you financially well to live.
ReplyDeleteI mean no offense by this question, but what is the significance of a vow renewal after only being married such a short time?
ReplyDeleteWhitney didn’t have her parents at their first wedding so reparations having been made they renewed their vows and her father gave her away.
DeleteI know people who renew their cows every 5 years. To them it's a reaffirmation of their covenant with each other and God.
DeleteWhile I totally get the sentiment and I think it was nice to do it, it really is just a play pretend. So, I think their "real" wedding picture should be up and on display as well. They have been married in the eyes of God since 2013. That is when they were joyned in holy matrimony and not in 2018.
DeleteYou only get one proposal, especially in Christian circles. How very sad to have a film crew observing it!
ReplyDeleteThey did not have a film crew. Their family was not on tv when this happened.
DeleteTheir proposal was filmed for the one and only season of United Bates of America
Delete@9:13 - No, United Bates of America was already canceled by the time Zach and Whitney got engaged. Erin had met Chad while they were filming, but they were not courting yet. The very last episode of United Bates of America shows the Paines visiting the Bates and going on the train and white water rafting trip in North Georgia. Erin sort of hints that she might be interested in him, but they don't come out and say it. None of the others had yet met their significant others at that point and all were still at home.
Delete9:13, United Bates of America was on in 2012, Zach and Whitney were engaged and married in 2013.
DeleteIs any amount of money worth having your marriage proposal filmed for the masses? A very sad choice on their part.
ReplyDeleteHa. They weren't on a show when their family recorded the proposal.
DeleteIf they don’t mind why should you?
Delete“Do unto others as you would have them do to you” and quit casting judgements on them.
Congrats to them! Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWishing you many more years of love and happiness. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY WHITNEY and ZACH
Joan,Marilyn and Marion
Hope they had a very happy anniversary. I just love Zach & Whitney. They are such a sweet couple and seem so perfect for each other. Wishing them many more years of happiness together!
ReplyDeleteLove the show
ReplyDeleteWhen we see events, such as marriage proposals, on this show, it's not the ACTUAL proposal; it is a re-creation for the show. The real proposal has already happened. This TV show, IS A TV show; scripted to a degree, rehearsed and blocked for the cameras, lighting and sound. We are not actually watching their lives, we are watching created scenes from their lives. When are people going to understand this?
ReplyDeleteThey did not have a show when they got engaged or married. This is just a photo taken the day they got engaged.
DeleteI know! People act like they are really hearing a candid conversation or an actual proposal, instead of a filmed, planned scene with lighting and sound carefully arranged.
DeleteIt doesn’t bother me at all that they had it filmed, but yes they were on United Bates of America on TLC at the time. This was before Bringing Up Bates.
Delete@10:23 AM, Zach and Whitney got engaged and married the first time without a show. It was before Bringing Up Bates and after United Bates of America. Erin and Chad's was filmed for the Duggars' show. Alyssa's wedding was shown on the Nightline news magazine show.
DeleteAt the time Zach proposed, the Bates had a blog that Kelly Jo did. If I remember correctly, she and Gil flew to Florida with Zach and Whitney. He surprised her with the trip and proposed on the beach. Kelly Jo took photos and posted them on the blog. Their wedding was photographed by one of the Duggars.
10:23, United Bates of America was filmed in 2012. Zach Whitney didn't get engaged until 2013, same year they were married.
DeleteHappy Anniversary
