Moving the Boutique

"Going through this process, I have learned that you can have a lot going on but still have the determination. And when you have a vision, if you want to get it done, there's ways to get it done."

-Whitney Bates

What did you think of tonight's episode? Be sure to read our written recap

It's all hands on deck on moving day at the Bates Boutique, as Erin, Whitney, and Carlin receive help from a bunch of friends, family members, and employees. Having a big family and a large support system sure does come in handy. In this web exclusive video, you'll see additional footage of the unpacking process.

  1. Tent camping would've been much easier on Chad--now he has another "project"! He looks exhausted and is not getting any younger.

    1. Chad is only 34 years old ! Heist young !!

    2. I agree, I think Erin and the Bates ask too much of Chad. He's so kind and hardworking, but he seems like the type of person who can't say no when people ask him to do something. I think they take advantage of that.

    3. He's not the type to just sit around, getting fat and lazy.

    4. I agree; he looks worn out-and well he should. It seems he graciously takes on the majority of the work load (both at home and on the job!)!!! Be good to yourself, Chad!

    5. Congratulations of the success and growth of your business!

    6. It annoys me so much how they dump every project on him. Give the man a break!

    7. I wonder what Chad would say if he saw these comments.

    8. If he saw these comments, maybe he'd feel validated and relieved. Maybe he's start to wonder if it's OK to say "no" once in a while. His kids will only be young once, and if he spend every weekend sleeping or working on Bates projects, he'll miss out on so much.

    9. 11:58, I wondered what he would say, not what other commenters would say.

    10. Did you watch the episode? He was excited about the camper. He talked about it.

  2. I agree that Chad is taken advantage of and looks exhausted. That guy needs to open his mouth and put an end to his free labor. That family needs him to have paying jobs. He is not a professional handyman for the Bates family.
Now that this boutique is located off-sight and seems to have lots to do, how are these women going to actually be there and homeschool their children at the same time? Please don't tell me that those kids will have to do their assignments at the warehouse! Another note, all of those folded dresses, etc looked to be exactly the same style dress but in different patterns. Why is that?

    1. How can you tell they are the same style if they're folded? 😂 If you look at the website, you can see the different styles for sale.

    2. Maybe they will hire some extra people to help.

    3. You can see the dresses on their website. IMO, the styles are all very similar and aren’t very flattering, because of the shapeless design and some of the large prints. The old flour sack look seems to be popular now in stores across the board. Some even resemble hospital gowns! As far as the homeschooling, a lot of it is done online, any time of day. The sisters might rotate other duties in this department.

    4. I don't think those women are actually interested in spending their day with their kids. I think it's more about posing in dresses for the boutique, helping customers, doing photoshoots--all that is a lot more fun. I think Callie, Ellie and Addie are going to be kept busy as free babysitters.

    5. They have people working for them.

    6. 11:56 Why disparage them for starting a business? They've even hired on extra help to make it more manageable. Furthermore, it's quite possible to enjoy your work and family!

    7. @11:56 I think the Bates women don't go to the shop hardly at all. I think they put their name on it because of their "celebrity" and they've hired people to actually work in the store while they collect the money.

  3. They’ll bring their children with them; since there is probably an extra room for the kids inside that building!

    1. The kids are going to spend their summer in a warehouse room? How is that good or desirable. My kid is better off in preschool than stuck in a room all day.

    2. You forget they have a huge family with many babysitters close by.

    3. Did the Bates women say their kids would spend the summer in a warehouse room, or is this just rumor spreading?

    4. Did you see the episode? They have people working for them. They won't necessarily be working their full time while they ignore their children.

  4. Organization is hard work. I don't agree that the "boys are doing the hard work." Mental labor is hard and takes its toll on our bodies just as physical labor. Stick up for yourself women.
