Kelton Balka and Hazel Balka
Both Bates babies are home sweet home! One week after her birth, Hazel Sloane Balka was finally able to leave the NICU and go home to meet big sister Willow. But there is still more Bates baby news to be announced very soon, as fans await Tori's delivery.

DeleteThat might be a comforting sentiment. If only that were true, there would be far less sorrow and heartache in this world. Problem is, it calls into question the faithfullness of those whose prayers go unanswered. I'm sure these young parents prayed for the health and well-being of their baby long before she was delivered. If this were the case, why would anything have happened in the first place that would require a lengthy hospital stay?

DeleteThat is not what that truly means. It just means that well, Hazel is okay. She is well now. If Kelton and Josie prayed for Hazel, now guess what! She is fine, and well. God answered that prayer for Hazel to be well. For those who experience sorrow and heartache, maybe they didn't believe God would answer their prayer.

DeleteIt goes to show that praying doesn’t work and that god doesn’t exist. My family experienced the death of my mom earlier this year after a long illness. Our prayers were not answered either. I definitely know there is no god after our experience.

DeleteSuffering and death are not a justified reason to question God. They are here because of sin. God has promised to he with us through life, and His ways are at times mysterious. Don't lose hope! Come to Jesus for healing.
I feel for you 9:08. I’ve been in your shoes. You sound very bitter and in pain. Losing a loved one is painful; but believing your prayers weren’t answered and there is no God allows the devil to enter your life. Humans cannot understand Gods will; but need to accept it in faith. I’ll lift prayers up for you and your broken heart. May God bless you.
Delete8:41, those who experience sorrow and heartache didn't believe God would answer their prayer? That's not what I've seen. God doesn't always answer the way we want, but He always answers. Sometimes yes, sometimes no, sometimes wait, sometimes in a way we never would have expected. He also promises to work all things together for good to them that love God. Doesn't say that all things are good, but that He works all things together to bring good out of it for those who love God. God has used some rotten things in my life for my good, and while they weren't fun to go through, I can look back and see His hand working for my good, and I'm thankful. Going through those things can bring spiritual fruit, spiritual maturity, a closer walk with God. The closer you lean on God through hard times, the closer He draws to us. It's something you can't truly understand until you experience it.
Delete8:41 -- NOT TRUE, NOT BIBLICAL. I know of people who have trusted God implicitly, but prayers were not answered as they wished. They later recognized that what they prayed for was not GOD'S PLAN.

I have the same conflict when someone who lives through an accident says, “My guardian angel was watching over me.” But if someone is killed in an accident, does that mean that person’s guardian angel wasn’t paying attention or just didn’t care? That is why, as a minister, I am very careful when someone asks me if I believe in angels.
Delete@2:29 I have to disagree about your "God's plan" reasoning. I've lost loved ones to cancer, despite all the prayers. I have never recognized any of these losses as being something God planned or that had anything to do with his will.
Delete@8:03 the Bible tells us that people do not become angels when they die. I cringe when I hear people say well God needed another angel in Heaven. It is a way for people to make themselves feel better but it is not biblical.
