Sharing Baby Clothes

Whitney Bates and Zach Bates

"I have to admit, I ooh and ahh, too."

-Zach Bates

The big Bates baby month is finally here! Very appropriately, there is a lot of talk about the June babies coming up on Thursday's new episode of Bringing Up Bates. Tori Smith is having a girl after two boys, and Whitney Bates is having a boy after two girls, so the two ladies do a clothes swap (video below). Josie Balka, on the other hand, will welcome a second daughter just a month shy of two years after Willow's arrival, so she will be able to reuse her clothes.

  1. All those tiny clothes! So exciting to think about the babies who will be wearing them soon!

  2. It is OK for girls to wear blue. And boys can wear pastels, even pink! The babies don't care.

    1. No the babies don't, but adults do unfortunately, people are judgemental, I gave a friend baby boys clothes for her baby girl to wear because she left behind her suitcase and couldn't get to the shop for a few days, but she wouldn't take the clothes, lol, even though not having a car available also meant not being able to go out, she was probably afraid someone would visit the house!

    2. Well, yes, you could dress them in rags and the babies wouldn't care.

    3. I had three boys and then a girl. You'd better believe that baby was wearing all the girly stuff. She did have a blue dress, but there was no way I was going to put her in the boy baby clothes.

    5. If they have someone to swap with, that's great!

    6. I didn't know what I was having until the baby was born. I bought more boy colored clothes, and she was just fine with it. I don't see what the problem is with girl babies wearing baby boy clothes. As long as they are loved and well taken care of it shouldn't matter what color clothes a baby is wearing.

  4. That's great they have the clothes to reuse. It's very nice that they can trade them back and forth. I can't wait to see the births of the 3 little bundles of joy. I also can't wait for part B of season 10 & I also really can't wait for season 11 of bringing up bates hopefully coming in 2022. Natasha b

  5. They are really lucky to have so many people with which to share life! We are military and often were moved from a support network soon after having our babies. Truly, this is one of the sacrifices civilians don’t realize—military members often raise their kids without family support and with an ever-changing group of friends, neighbors, church family, etc. There are ups and downs to every lifestyle, but it is fun for me to have a glimpse into the life of a large family with a long-established support network —it is completely different from parenting alone!

    2. I can empathize with you, 4:09PM. My daughter and son-in-law are a young military family. They have moved 6 times in 12 years. They will move again next summer. I know they look forward to their new assignments but they sacrifice many things in defense of our country.
God bless you and thank you for your service.

    3. Military wife here too. Yep. No family support and once you make a few friends we get orders to PCS. Then there are the year+ deployments! I’m not complaining. I love my husband and our country. But it’s a huge sacrifice on family life. It’s hard doing it alone. But what I have noticed is my children are much more adaptable and mature than most within their age groups who live “normal” lives. They are much more compassionate toward others because they are always the “new kid” hoping someone will befriend them. They have a much broader world view. Anyway, thank you, your children, and spouse for your service and sacrifice.

    6. At 5:19, I'm a military wife, and I can't stand it when people thank me for my service. My husband serves, I don't. I'm just along for the ride.

    8. 1:42, don't you sacrifice anything having your husband be in the military?

    9. 1:42. Im a military wife too. I respectfully disagree with you. We, and our children, most definitely serve and sacrifice greatly for the of our country. I believe all Military Spouses and their children should be walking right beside their Active Duty service member spouse in every single parade. We should be thanked and acknowledged. I’m waiting for the day I get a medal for service to my country..but I will settle for a tiara..LOL!
