Whitney Loses Her Father

We shared a few days ago that Whitney Bates' father, JC Perkins, was in the hospital and in need of prayer. Tragically, he passed away over the weekend. Please continue to pray for Whitney and her mom, Lynn, and their family.

  41. I won't repeat the standard platitudes. There are no words to describe the grief that comes with the loss of a loved one and no words from others that make it any easier. Let yourself cry and have all those feelings. When my parents died, I remember it was as though I'd lost my anchor and was cast adrift, even though I have my own family. You learn to adjust, but the ache remains.

    1. You could not have phrased it any better! It simply doesn't matter how old we are. Losing a parent is a crushing blow. One from which you never truly recover. Prayers for this sweet young woman and her entire family.

  45. It's so heartbreaking to lose a parent, I'm so very sorry Whitney. I lost my father to brain cancer when I was 35 and he was just 55 years old. Much too young. I pray peace and comfort from our LORD Jesus for your Mom, yourself and your family. Find comfort in knowing he's watching over you and your beautiful family. May he rest in peace.
