Christmas with the Bates 2021

Gil and Kelly Bates
Christmas 2021

How was your Christmas? Following an early celebration at Gil and Kelly's house, many of the married Bates kids either spent the holiday in their own homes or with their in-laws. Gil and Kelly and the younger children, as well as Nathan and Esther and Trace and Lydia, traveled to the family farm to be with Gil's parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews.

  2. Glad the Bates family had a good Christmas together and with extended families. I'm predicting by next Christmas that the all the Bates kids will be either pregnant again (Zac and Whitney,Tori and Bobby, Alyssa and John, and Josie and Kelton),be pregnant with their first(Michaella and Brandon via IVF,Nathan and Esther,Katie and Travis, and maybe Lawson and Tiffany once they wed and decide whether or not to start a family right away),and of course have another baby born(Erin and Chad and Carlin and Evan) and an engagement (Trace and Lydia).

    1. Probably. It's non-stop action in this family. Exciting! But exhausting at the same time, lol. Mama Bates has a ton of energy that's for sure ☺️

  3. I love all the Bates, but I like Michaela the most. I pray God gives her a child of her own, or at least adopt some. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

    1. At least adopt? You make it sound like adoption is second best. BTW, when you adopt, that child IS your own. If that isn't understood, you shouldn't be adopting.

    2. I like Michael’s, too! Does anyone know if she’s working as a nurse, yet?

    4. Reply to Anonymous 2:28pm, I meant if she can't have any, she can adopt. Reread next time!!!

  4. Such a strange display for Christmas - just a crib and a swagged cross? I have never seen a church without the Holy Family Nativity - and the white swag on the cross is an Easter display/symbol. I am Baptist also, but this is very unusual.

    1. I'm Baptist too and I'm not used to seeing a nativity scene in church (Jesus was the only one of the family who was holy).

    2. I love it!! It probably stands for Jesus birth to death to Resurrection! If life had worked out differently and I was born there or could move there I would attend their church I just love the family!! I am also Baptist but regardless of doctrine I love and believe in Jesus our Savior! And I believe for Easter it's purple for royalty as Jesus is King!

    3. Lots of churches don’t put Jesus in the manger until Christmas Day. It’s rather symbolic. Advent is a time of waiting, as we wait for Christ, especially for Christ’s return. The cross reminds us of Christ’s resurrection. To put Baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas Day announces, Christ has come; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

    4. Maybe it's the "less is more" look. In any event, it makes not a bit of difference to me.

    1. MO- I don't see anything that said what church they were at. Where do you see where they said they were at their church close to their home? I might have missed it. :o)
