Trace is spending Christmas with his girlfriend, Lydia. In case you missed it, we posted about their relationship earlier this month. The two are spending time with Papa Bill and Mama Jane at the farm in Honea Path, South Carolina. Merry Christmas to all!

Hope maybe Lydia can teach Mama Jane some German Christmas traditions like maybe making schnitzel and noodles (I think that's German but correct me if I'm wrong🤔) and German tree ornaments. I didn't know the Bates went to North Carolina for Christmas on the farm. Thought they had Christmas at Gil and Kelly's house in Tennessee. Wishing the Bates family a very Merry Christmas!😁🎄🎁

DeleteWe eat fish on Christmas where I am from (south Germany) with a potatoe salad and veggies.
Noodles (pasta) is Italian.
Spaetzle = German noodles
DeleteAnother typical German Christmas meal is roasted goose with red cabbage and mashed pototes.

DeleteGil and Kelly went with them as well as Nathan and Esther. The rest celebrated with in-laws or on their own.

DeleteHopefully, when any of them reach a certain age, the concept of having a 7-10 year old as a chaperone becomes a bit silly, even to Gil and Kelly. It is possible that having Jud and Jeb as very intrusive chaperones might have been what caused Trace's earlier relationship to end (my opinion only). One would like to think that they could trust their kids who are now in their mid to late 20s to be able to control themselves around a person of the opposite sex.
Delete8:39, I never got the vibe from Cheney's dad or sometimes even Cheney that they were that into that particular relationship. I doubt the boys were the only factor.
