    1. Are you referring to Warden and Isaiah because they also are of courtship age?

    2. Who else would she be referring to?

    3. How old are Warden and Isaiah? Aren’t they a bit young?

    4. 4:41, they're 19 and 17 (see Birthdays section of this blog).

    5. Warden is 19 and Isaiah is 17.

  4. So much for his plan to enlist in the Marines...

    1. A person can't be in a relationship and join the marines? I didn't know being single was a requirement.

    2. Former military wife here saying that adding a relationship when you're new to the military is not the best idea. The military owns you and your life for the next however many years, and it's awfully difficult to maintain any kind of personal relationship during that, especially during training. Oh it can be done, but there's always a strain and you never get to be together as much as you would if you were outside the military. Hats off to all current military wives and families who are going through this. We stuck it out until we saw it was not for our growing family. If Jackson does have a girl and if he is joining the Marines, I hope they both realize what they're in for. There will be a LOT of sacrifices and yes, tears and separations...

    3. Haha, of course not!

    4. I’m the PP. The Bateses prioritize family and family events above everything. In the military, serving the country comes before everything (as it should). I don’t think any of the Bateses will be able to handle the military, because it would be too hard for them to miss all the weddings and baby showers.

    5. He's allowed to have a girlfriend when he joins the Maries. In fact he can even be married and STILL join.

    6. Well, that's silly. Marines are allowed to have girlfriends.

    7. My husband was active duty for 22 years, I was with him for all of it, what does being active duty have anything to do with it

    8. Military wife here. I don’t see any Bates having the commitment it takes to be part of our Military. They couldn’t handle the deployments.

    9. I really don’t see a Bates being a Marine. It’s a ton of discipline and self-sacrifice. They would have to serve and be under command of men and WOMEN! They deploy a lot and no conjugal visits for weeks, months, and over a year sometimes. My husbands longest deployment was 18 months, but we did more months and up to a year than I can count. Yeah..don’t see it happening...

    10. I hear you, military wives. I gave birth 3 hours before a deployment began. New dads have to leave along with all the others. Uncle Sam doesn't take excuses. Military life with a wife or family is HARD...

    11. 8:18. Military wife too. Yeah..nope! Don’t think they could handle it!

    12. I don't think he ever had any serious intention of enlisting in the Marines. That would mean leaving the bosom of this family and having to be around people who don't conform to his religious beliefs. The culture shock of that would have been too much for him.

    13. 9:12. Totally agree!

    14. Yes, they can't stop them, but there are things they have to deal with. A military wife I know shared that her husband flew in on the Friday, they got married the Saturday, and he was deployed again on Sunday. And there were many deployments before he got a position where he doesn't need to anymore, now that he's close to retirement age. We'll see if he really does that.

    15. I am a military spouse. If he wants to join and she wants to be with him and support him, he should.

    16. My son was engaged when he was sent overseas for 14 mos. Came home and got married. A mo later, his wife was sent overseas for 6 mos. Came home and were finally able to start married life. He chose not to reenlist, and she'll be leaving at the end of this yr. They have a newborn and want to have a life with their child. Thank you military families for all of your sacrifices.

    17. I don't think the Bates (or the Duggars) understand how hard military life is. It's not Alert Academy where you get out quickly and only play at being a soldier. When you're enlisted, your life is dictated by the country and although you might have a stateside job, you could be called anywhere on the globe with very little notice. Then you're gone for who knows how long and your life could be in danger. This doesn't fit the Bates or Duggar plan to marry young and have loads of children. I would be very surprised if any of those young men ever signed up and actually walked the walk they like to talk about. Patriotism isn't just flying flags or mowing your lawn certain ways. Someone has to be on the front line.

    1. Not unless it's Johanna Duggar maybe?

    2. Except for Jana, I think the available Duggar girls are a bit young to be involved in a serious relationship.

    3. Johanna is 17, right? Hard to believe she's that old (but I'm guessing she's not the girlfriend).

    4. Lol the girl is Emerson Wells.

    5. Johannah Duggar turned 16 last October.

  9. Is it maybe a sister of one of the Bates sister in-laws? Esther has younger sisters if I remember right? Or maybe it's the daughter of a pastor or missionary the Bates know? Can't wait to find out soon.😁

  11. Congratulations Jackson Bates, I hope to see your courtship grow. I would love to see the Bates and the extended family members back on Cable TV. I think you deserve another chance. I tried watching other show's and they're just not working out. Natasha b

  15. Spoiler Alert:Her name is Emerson Wells. Alyssa spilled the beans in her new vlog that came out today because she went furniture shopping with Jackson and his sister and brother, Isaiah to pick out new furniture for Gil and Kelly as a gift for them doing so much for their 19 Kids over the years.

    1. I think gifting Gil and Kelly with new furniture is good, they should them choose the furniture they want and the kids can pay for it.
