More Bates Baby News

Just weeks before Alyssa and John Webster welcome their fifth child and possibly days before Katie and Travis Clark meet their firstborn, Zach and Whitney Bates have some baby news of their own to share. You guessed it...they are expecting No. 5! Whitney is due in August 2023. She had her 10-week appointment last week.

    1. If I counted right, yes! But the Bates are still a little behind from the Duggar grandchildren count but I'm sure not for long maybe because there are 3 or 4 more Bates girls/daughter in-laws that could announce pregnancies later this year.

    2. Yes I agree. And no doubt Tori too since she's on a roll to have a baby every year since she and Bobby obviously are on track to having a big family. And Tiffany and Lydia are not pregnant yet still (but probably soon I'm sure☺️).

  14. She should read Jinger's book. Jinger warns about the tolls such a scenario takes on a woman.

    1. It's been 2 years since her last baby. And each of Zach and Whitney's kids are at least 2 years apart,so she's fine.

    2. Having 5 kids myself, I would say the only thing is that Whitney needs to make sure she's eating right, exercising, letting Zach or a sitter give her breaks regularly, give her walk with God priority, follow her doc or midwife's instructions - basically make sure she isn't sacrificing her wellbeing- and she should be fine.

    3. It was funny how Jinger described that in the book! She should be an authority on it by now.

    4. Wise advice from Jinger!

  15. Children are a blessing from the Lord! I feel sad that Jinger did not give the other side that there are wonderful people in that organization. What Bill Gothard did was wrong. But there are still God fearing And God loving people that love the Lord Jesus Christ there. I am a Calvinist like Jeremy and Jinger but I still see brothers and sisters in Christ that are in that organization. I love and appreciate Jinger but I also love and appreciate her parents. Her mom is wonderful!

    1. Are you a close, personal friend of Michelle Duggar? The woman you saw on TV may have been totally different behind closed doors with no television cameras. I don’t think it’s fair to criticize Jinger unless you have proof that she’s not being truthful.

    2. 11:31 Just because children can be a blessing doesn't mean you have to keep on having them, like they're collectibles or something.

    3. Her mom may seem "wonderful" but her dad has been deep in IBLP and how he raised his kids reflects that. One daughter's husband has been very vocal about that. He has no reason to make things up. In fact, he had a lot to lose by going against the dad. One son got in so much trouble that even the God-loving IBLP couldn't solve it. Now another daughter speaks out about her damaging upbringing. That's enough proof for me that things aren't perfect with that organization.

    4. Having read Jinger's book, as well, I don't recall her ever saying that all members of the IBLP are bad. Or that there are no wonderful people who are members of the organization. And she certainly did not say that her parents aren't wonderful people. What I understood her to say is Bill Gothard is a bad person who used his position as leader of the IBLP to perpetrate harm against specific individuals, as well as to mislead his followers into believeing some very damaging ideas about the Christian faith by falsely claiming they were Biblically-based rather than human constructs. As to her parents, she says they were well-intentioned in passing along their sincerely held beliefs, but that she now knows that some of those beliefs are not in fact Bibically-based and were also damaging to her emotionally and spritually.

In any case, I say all of that because it's my personal belief that rather than mischaracterizing the facts and leaving out important context in an attempt to intentionally mislead, the starting point of any real, useful discussion must be from a place of honesty and factual correctness.

  16. Is there a reason why you dont say anything about Michaela and Brandon and there miscarriages?

    1. The best reason would be out of consideration for their feelings. Not asking about it is another way to do so.

    2. Probably because they are wanting privacy. I don’t blame them. It’s got to be so hard to have all your married siblings popping out babies constantly! My heart breaks for them.

  17. Congratulations Zach and Whitney, I pray for a healthy and safe delivery. If possible I would love to see the gender reveal and birth videos. I sure do miss all the Bates family and the Duggar's family. I'm praying one day there will be another spinoff show of each family. Natasha b
