Trace and Lydia Bates just made a big announcement! They recently nailed down a name for their first child and decided to share it with the world. Their son will be called Ryker Cruise Bates. The parents-to-be uploaded a YouTube video that shows their reveal and features a description of how they chose the names.

ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that the expecting parents (Duggars and Bates) rarely give their child a Biblical name. As devoted Christians, I would think they would give their offspring names from the Bible.

ReplyDeleteAs a resident of the NYC metro area, all I can think of when I hear this name is the jail on Rikers Island. They should seriously reconsider using this name.

DeleteYou know how you used to be able to go into any five and dime store and find a little bike license plate with your name on it - Sue, Ann, Tom, Bob, etc.? Or find a souvenir with your name on it while on a trip? Well good luck doing that for any Bates or Duggar grandchild these days.
ReplyDelete8:14, I remember those! My name is uncommon and I always wanted to be able to have a name like Diane, Susan, or Nancy so I could find in on one of those little license plates. Those were the most popular names back when I was growing up in the Dark Ages.
