Lots of baby news for the Bates family! Whitney Bates just delivered Lily Jo Bates, Lydia Bates is nearing her due date with Ryker Cruise Bates, and Josie Balka recently announced that she is expecting #3.
Erin and Chad Paine also revealed news of their own. They have a name for their 6th child, a boy who is due in early December. Like older brother Carson (Charles Stephen Paine IV), this little boy will have a family name. Both Erin's dad and grandfather are William Gilvin, so she and Chad picked the name William Gage. The expectant parents discuss that and answer other questions in their most recent YouTube video (link below).

They also mentioned that Carson wants to go by his real name of Charles. Charles and William are the reigning king of England, and the heir apparent!
ReplyDeleteWilliam is such a good strong name
ReplyDeleteDoes the video say if they're calling him something other than William (like Carson instead of Charles)?
ReplyDeleteIn fact they seem to be following a surname theme for their children's names, they read out the list of names in which they chose and they were all surname names, maybe this baby will be called by his middle name Gage, seems to be a surname.
DeleteWhy don’t the girls get family names? Instead, they get highly unusual names like Everly. I wonder why this is.
ReplyDeleteHighly unusual? I don’t think Everly is highly unusual…guess it depends on where you live?
DeleteI think Chad picks the boy names which are strong names that have stood the test of time. Erin likes more trendy names and likely gets to pick the girl names. The girls have family middle names.
DeleteNo, she's said that she picks a bunch of names and Chad can choose from them. I think girls need strong names too!
DeleteYou must not be a baby name junkie. 😂 Brooklyn, Holland, Everly and Finley are all trendy and common.
DeleteWhat a nice name. I’m glad they are having a second son.
ReplyDeleteIt's not their second son it's Trace and Lydia's first , not sure where you came up with the second son.
DeleteThe first comment was referring to Chad and Erin's 2nd son.
Delete6:46AM: This thread is about Chad and Erin, and it is their second son.
DeleteThey are referring to Chad and Erin's second son, William Gage.
DeleteErin and Chad’s second son
Delete6:46. Fairly certain Charles/Carson is a first son. That makes William a second son.
Delete6:46, please read the whole post. It talks about the Paines' second son.
DeleteThis is about Chad and Erin's 6th child.... yes it is their 2nd son. Trace and Lydia are naming their poor kid Ryker.
DeleteUm 6:46,you need to pay attention to which post your reading before you respond. This is about Chad and Erin's second son.
DeleteChad said that "Carson is not a nicknames for Charles." Then why do they call him Carson? It seems like Erin is just bypassing his real name for a name she prefers.
ReplyDeleteChad’s name is Charles. Doesn’t he consider Chad a nickname? It seems his family needs to carry on the tradition of the firstborn son to be named Charles legally. Then I guess they choose whatever name they like to use at home. Other families do this, too.
DeleteI'm always baffled by the people who give their children a name and then call them by another name that is unrelated to their actual name. It's very confusing when they have to use their legal name somewhere (like on their driver's license or something).
DeleteChad isn’t a nickname for Charles either
ReplyDeleteI like the name! Erin looks beautiful and her family is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFinally someone is not finding out the gender! It’s so much for fun, congrats Josie
ReplyDeleteJosie, did not say that she’s not finding out the baby’s gender. She’s not due until March.
DeleteIt’s a boy. Named William. Surprise!
DeleteJosie did say she wasn't going to find out the baby's gender. @11:45, the person was talking about Josie.
DeleteMarch? She’s looks so much bigger than that.
DeleteI hope Erin’s baby is called by the first name, William. Not Gage! That’s the name of Amy Slayton’s first boy- she is one of the 1000
ReplyDeletePound Sisters of TLC fame.
So what if it's his name too. How rude of you.
DeleteFor the many people who don't watch that show, it makes no difference.
DeleteHow is that rude? People routinely avoid certain names because of negative associations. How many baby Adolphs have there been in the last 80 years?
DeleteNot only do you have to be careful of the name and who else has it, you also have to look at what the initials might spell out. I refused to name a child something that had a bunch of nicknames too. Will, Willy, Bill, Billy....no thanks.
Delete3:29, naming your kid after Hitler is completely different than having a kid with the same name as someone on a reality show that lots of people don't watch.
DeleteYou just proved the point though 8:57. It's not rude say where you heard a name before.
Delete6:30 I've known quite a few Elizabeth's over the years. Some go by the full name, others go by Libby, Beth, Betsy, Lizzie or Liz. It really isn't that complicated. Their parents started the nickname when they were young and it stuck. No problems!
Delete12:36, I didn't prove your point. I never said you were being rude. That was someone else.
Deletepretty sure Carlin will be having another one soon and Tori will also.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, Carlin does not have any more. People with health issues like her should not get pregnant. It's too dangerous for both the woman and the baby. She already has a boy and a girl. Some women have not been able to have any kids!
DeleteHer being able to have children has nothing to do with other women not being able to have children.
DeleteWilliam is a good name, my son is William Joseph 💙
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Chad and Erin on choosing your sons name. Please refer to your son however you choose. He will be your child after all. Prayers and love for the family.
ReplyDeleteI've never understood why people give their a child a name and then call them by another name . It's one thing for a junior to use their middle name to distinguish them from their parent but when a completely different name is used it seems a bit odd. Why don't you just name you child the name you intend to call them by?
