UPDATE: Baby Ryker arrived on September 12th, and both he and Lydia are doing well.
Trace and Lydia Bates are about to become parents! Their first child, whom they have already named Ryker Cruise Bates, will soon make his arrival. Lydia's check-in for her induction is at 12am on Tuesday, September 12th. The expectant parents plan to have both their moms coming and going throughout the labor and to have Josie be the photographer for the actual delivery. They discuss their birth plan in their latest video.
Is her doctor crazy? I can't believe anyone would make their patient go to the hospital at midnight to have labor induced.
ReplyDeleteMy doctor made me do that with my first, and that was 21 years ago. It was a waste of a night - I could have been getting rested up for labor the next day back at home, because nothing happened until she broke my water around 10 the next morning.
DeleteIt’s actually not that uncommon, done for billing/insurance purposes.
DeleteI am a labor and delivery nurse. When a doctor is inducing before the cervix has dilated and thinned out, they will have the patient come in early to have a dose of cytotec. Cytotec helps the cervix thin and dilate. Usually around 6am we will start the pitocin and the doctor will come in a few hours later to break the water. I had this done with my son and had to be at the hospital at 11pm.
Delete12am? As in midnight?
ReplyDeleteYep. Seems weird to me.
DeleteI’m excited too. Praying for a safe delivery for Ryker, Mom, and Dad.❤️
ReplyDeleteDear Trace and Lydia, My sister and I will be in prayer for you guys throughout the 12th and into the 13th! God be with you and grant an easy delivery and a healthy baby! God bless and In Christ, your Sisters in Christ from the Midwest!
ReplyDeleteAmen, God Bless You Bates Family, Congratulations!
DeletePraying for a smooth and safe delivery!
ReplyDeleteMidnight? Why on earth would a ductor have her do that?
ReplyDeleteFROM JUSTINE K , HEY ELLIE DID WHITNEY HAVE HER BABY, AND LYNDA!!!! I JUST WANT TO KNOW ARE THEY OK?????
ReplyDeleteHi Justine. Whitney did have her baby. It's in a earlier post and Lydia is in the hospital to have hers today I believe. 🙂
DeleteWhitney's baby girl was featured in August 16th's post "Welcome Lily Jo Bates".
DeleteLydia was induced yesterday... info should be coming soon
JUSTINE , THANKS U 2!!!!
DeleteAm sure the baby is here and doing fine. PLEASE LET THEM HAVE SOME PRIVATE TIME
ReplyDeleteAny word on Riker? I thought he would have arrived by now.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think she’ll answer you! Remember you’re not her friend just because you watch her on TV.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think they’re asking the Bates family members themselves, but the writers of the blog. Go to the contact us link & they explain who they are.
DeleteWhen they’re asking Ellie, they don’t mean Ellie Bates. One of the blog writers is also named Ellie. Read the contact us link.
DeleteLove your answer you are correct. Unless you have a personal relationship with Duggars or Bates you won't get a personal answer sorry Justine.
DeleteIs he here yet?
ReplyDeleteJanice think she would have her son by now
ReplyDeleteI guess the Dr figure they have 24 hrs to have the baby. Guaranteed the date rhey picked.
ReplyDeleteGoing in @ 12 am is for insurance reason. Please relax it's not going to hurt anybody @ that hour .
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity we let incurance companies dictate medical care. Oh well, that's how it goes.
DeleteSo he's here, and his weight is right on track (how predictable).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Lydia and Trace! Welcome to the world, Baby Ryker!
ReplyDeleteGreat news, congratulations to them and both families! I saw the photo of Ryker on Instagram. He is precious and looks like Lydia! 🥰
ReplyDeleteGlad little Ryker is here and both mom and baby are doing well. Continued prayers for this sweet family.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! 😊
